What do I need to know about tryouts?
Tryouts are a normal part of the process of participating in competitive athletics. IR Academy hosts tryouts for girls and boys seeking who are looking to join our competitive program and develop in a player-centered environment. All athletes who are interested in joining our club should register by clicking the link above. An IR Academy Technical Director or coach will contact you upon completion of the registration.
IR Academy Tryouts
IR Academy hosts two sessions of tryouts, depending on the age of your athlete. Each session consists of three days and players are encouraged to attend all three days of tryouts. Below are the session dates and times:

Do I need to pre-register?
Athletes that are interested in attending IR Academy tryouts are encouraged to pre-register for the event. You can register by clicking the link below. Players may also register at our IR Academy tent at BSP Field Four before tryouts begin, but should arrive early. Interested players are encouraged to attend all three days of tryouts.
Tryouts in Elk Grove
2026 IR Academy tryouts will be hosted at Bartholomew Sports Park, Field Four in Elk Grove. BSP is located at 10150 Franklin High Road (see map below).
Field four is the closest field to the main parking lot at BSP. Look for the IR Academy tent to register. Interested players are encouraged to attend all three days of tryouts.
How do I make the team?
Teams are formed through the tryout process and athletes are encouraged to attend all three days. During tryouts, our IR Academy coaching staff will evaluate all players and place them on the team most appropriate for their ability and future development. All players and/or families will be contacted by an IR Academy coach at the conclusion of the tryouts process.
Our fee structure
Initial registration Fees -$250
- 2017 age group: $900 (for 12-month season).
- 2016-2013 age group: $1500 (for 12-month season).
- 2012-2007 age group: $1800 (for 12-month season).
Member is agreeing to pay registration and club fees directly to the club. The payment options are as follows: pay the registration fee and the entire club fee upfront. Or, pay the registration fee and first club fee upfront and the balance of club fees will be divided over the remaining club season, paid on the first of every month.
Member pays registration and club fees directly to the club (fees have been adjusted due to an increase in CSD field rental, referee fees, and US Club registration). Members should be aware that there will be additional team fees paid directly to the team in the form of NorCal Premier league fees, tournament fees, coach stipend, and miscellaneous fees. Payment of these fees is required by each family or guardian regardless of whether the athlete will be competing in the league or tournament events.
